I guess the question is what position should have the most weight in the league?...and the least? If we want pitching and hitters to equalize then pitching needs more stats since bum pitchers get less than 200 pts but bum hitters are over 200 pts.... stop picking on my outfielders...

I believe that we did try to balance the league a year or two ago. We had too many points going to pitching so we added negative points to walks (-0.5) and added points to 1/3 of innings pitched (from 0.33 to 0.5 per third of an inning). Amongst other changes. These changes made it so that hitters were more valuable than pitchers.
I think that giving more points to bum pitchers benefits a team that is willing to pick up multiple pitchers in a week. Bum hitters getting more points is irrelevant because there is a fixed amount of hitters going in a day (typically only on Monday or Thursday can bum hitters help). Potentially you can start more pitchers than hitters.
