Who ends up with the better end of the deal? Montero can rake, but will safeco kill his power? And Pineda has shown flashes of brilliance, but pitching in NY is much different than pitching in Seattle.
I think the mariners win in the long run, as montero should be a middle-of-the-lineup fixture for many years.

Hopefully, the Pine Tar Sluggers enjoy the better part of the deal since Montero will be more likely to qualify at Catcher with the Mariners than the Bronx Bombers. Overall, the Yankees probably will do better since they got the young pitcher and with their wallet they can always find a 35 year old slugger to fill the DH position.
