It is no secret at all that I was extremely distracted throughout the season, and unable to take care of multiple issues that came up. I apologize for that, first off, but I think it brings to light the need for a committee.
Of course I will be the commish, and always have final answer, but I would like to put together a committee of 2 or 3 others that can make changes on the site, deal with general issues like questions about rules, and things like that.
Kenny would be the first member, and leader of the committee so-to-speak.
I would like to know A) Who is interested in being part of the committee, and B) Who you THINK should be in it - and why.

I agree that this is a great idea! You do a great job but yes sometime others get access quicker. I would always want to help but know that Doug and Mike are very active too. This is not a slight on anyone owner some of us just get on more often or respond quickly.

I volunteer. I would only want to be an enforcer though. Give us rules to follow and I will make the necessary drops or rulings. I would be fine with helping with updating the rules page.

I am not sure if everyone has paid up, but I think that we need to enforce the penalties for not paying the dues on time for this league.
Chris, I owe probably about $20-$30 in pick up dues when you subtract my 3-4 high score weeks. I want to use my prize winnings to settle that debt. Thanks.

First, I strongly agree that we need some sort of backup. FB is fun, buit there are other obligations that take precedence at time for all of us. We do need to be clear on when the EC can act. I know Kenny did a lot of work this summer, but there were some issues that he waited to hear from you. While that works for a couple days, sometime a decision needs made.
I would be willing to volunteer if needed. I am on the website each day. That said, Kenny, Joe, and Doug have also been active all year. Of course, if Joe was on the committee, there may be a lot fewer issues to deal with (which is a good thing). There would need to be some rules (for the makeup of the Exec Comm and trades involving EC, etc). I would also propose the EC have 3 members - this way there is (1) an odd number if a vote is needed and (2) there is an uninvolved unbiased member even if 2 of the EC make a trade. It also would allow you to create a rule that 2 EC members are needed to make a decision (as opposed to 1 Commish). If it is an easy decision, 2 can quickly agree to it even if the 3rd is unavailable.
I would suggest a different name than EC, however. THe Bullpen makes sense so that it clear that the Commish is stsrter and the others are just relief.

I like the bullpen, or just 'pen or short!
If we do go forward with this, it would definitely be a three person 'pen. As far as their roles, it would basically be as enforcers. Enforce the lineup policies, enforce the minor leaguer pickups, things of that nature. They would also be my executive panel, so to speak, on rule changes.
It would just have to be clear that I have say over everything, and can veto or change a ruling or decision that the 'pen may have made. Not because I am on any power trip, you all know that's totally not me. I just want to have a clear chain of command.

i like the idea of having some type of panel that couod inforce the agreed to rules. also kenny brings up a valid point if the payment tab wasnt updated we have a ton of outstanding fees. i think owners be required to pay or not be allowed to draft.

a committe sounds fine. i think there are quite a few solid captains that would be valuable members.

I am thinking commish (me), co-commish (Kenny) and a three-person EC or bullpen. Of course, thats nearly half of the league.... although the EC would basically just be approving requests and policing lineups... which some of you already do anyways... so I don't see an issue with that.

Sounds like it would work. We would then need to find some other topics to bring up in the chat though.

This change is finalize. The Bullpen will be manned by the trio of Joe, Doug, and Mike. Kenny will remain co-commissioner.
