I know that this rule was usggested for changing simply because getting 50% of people to even vote is a problem (especially given 2 teams can't vote), let alone veto a trade. This is likely to get worse expanding to 14 teams. It was suggested that a trade be put up through the same voting process but once a set number (3 or 4?) of vetos are raised it would go to the Commish for consideration. If possible, it would be good to keep collecting votes beyond the 3 or 4 in case there is a clear issue as that will help the Commish make his decision.
Regardless, the Commish should have the final decison (although I would suggest a rule for in case the Commish is unavailable. Also I would have the EC or "Bullpen" decide if the Commish were involved in a trade that was a potential veto.
Note that I am generally in favor of trades, but do realize that there are occasions that there are unfair trades made. As we learned this year, it also begins to take on extra meaning near the end of the season when the leaders are building and the others begin to rebuild for next year. This is also when the most trades seem to occur.
Regarding trades, is there anyway to get CBS to keep track of traded draft picks? They did it preseason and then we lost it. I am not sure if all trades were registered on the site. This is something that I would prefer the Commish (or his assistant) would do to make sure there are no errors.

I am definitely in favor of having the veto count be three. Once three vetoes are made, the trade is sent to me for commish approval.
Unless I hear any solid reasoning why this shouldn't be put in place, consider it done.

if we expand then with 14 teams I think 5 is sufficient to veto.
with 12 teams ,10 vote on it ....I think 4 is the number....if It becomes 5 veto then Commish can rule..who care is 40% do not like a deal 50% is more a reason to have commision veto not 40% or 4...etc

Trading draft picks.
Chris, when do we get our draft picks for next year? Is it after the season is over? Can we get them before trade deadline? If we can, it may save you time and energy if we can trade picks like during preseason.

Unfortunately CBS does not have a way to track traded picks for the next season - although this is one thing I will be suggesting to them. I am about 99.9% positive that I documented all of them on this site. The only current way to have them visible for trading purposes would be if I added each pick for each team in manually - as an unlisted player. I could do so, but then they would also technically count against your lineup restrictions.

See my previous post, but currently the draft picks are available to be traded after CBS archives the previous season. Last year I think this was in mid-November.

I am going to call this change finalized. Three vetoes on a trade will send it to me for approval - at which time Kenny, the 'pen, and I will dicuss to come to a final ruling.

I think vetoes should be thrown out completely. Sorry im a little late guys, lol. Commissioner approval is all thats needed. Sometimes owners will veto just cause there in a playoff run and a team acquiring players could hurt there chances of making it. Please get rid of vetoes.

Vetoes don't necessarily mean a trade is overturned in this league. If enough vetoes are cast, then the trade just comes up to Commish and Committee revue.

i AGREE vetos blow.... I make tons of trades and for a team just to not want me to win or load up is a poor reason the veto

I also agree because if the trades fair its fair because it helps both teams and to veto just for one team who you dont want to win is crap. But if we do have vetoes we should put it at 5 like Joe said, ~40% should be plenty to give reason for a commissioner to look at.

I hate vetos always have always will someone else was correct in stating that some teams may be making a run for the playoffs that they don't match up well against & will straight up veto without really caring. COMMISH STATUS
