Commish - Just going through the rules in more detail to make sure I understand the league. I do have a few questions. Thanks. Mike (GM & Asst Coach - Pine Tar Sluggers)
Is it 10 games or 15 games for position eligibility? The site is now set for 10, but the Constitution says 10.
Off season trading? I assume the answer is yes, but the website says it is not.
For an off-season trade, is the 24-hour voting period in effect or is it longer recognizing that not all owners are checking in? The rules on the website said something about e-mailing all owners, but we seem to be processing quickly without e-mails.
Do vetoes ever occur? How does it work?
What is the in-season trade deadline? The site is set to 8/15, but the Constitution said 8/30.
Is the DL list really unlimited?
If someone goes on the DL, the Constitution says the Commish will place on the DL if the owner doesn't. What if the injured player is simply on the bench (& not starting). I could see wanting to simply avoid a $.50 transaction or already have taken their 3 picks for the week.
In the draft, what happens if you have less than 35 draft picks? I saw where you can not keep more players than the number of draft picks, but how does it work after the draft if you have less than 35 players? Are you able to go to the waiver wire to fill the remaining slots? If not, are you restricted to a smaller lineup all season?
When are keepers due? Is it simply a matter of indicating keepers on the website lineup or does the Commish need an e-mail? What about extending contracts?
Once the keepers are announced, I assume trading can continue until the draft? I also assume trades can happen between the draft and start of the season. Is there trading during the draft?
Finally, has scoring been finalized? I am still in favor of increasing saves and holds by a 1 or 2 pts just to bring up RP. Regardless, I figure the points may be close to done and want to make sure I am comparing players on the correct rules before announcing keepers.
I am sure I will have more, but this covers the latest. Thanks.

Is it 10 games or 15 games for position eligibility? The site is now set for 10, but the Constitution says 10. It should be 10. The site is set up differently than the constitution at the moment, because during the draft CBS will only show players available if they meet eligibility requirements. So right now I have the site set up as 10 games and/or CBS main position. During the season it will be just the 10 games, so if a player is under that, he can only be a DH until the 10 games min is reached.
Off season trading? I assume the answer is yes, but the website says it is not. Yes, offseason trading is allowed. CBS always resets this function every year and I have to go back and change it, which I will do again.
For an off-season trade, is the 24-hour voting period in effect or is it longer recognizing that not all owners are checking in? The rules on the website said something about e-mailing all owners, but we seem to be processing quickly without e-mails. This rule was written before CBS made their site open year round, so I will revise the constitution. Off-season trades can be submitted and sent, etc, right through CBS just as they currently are.
Do vetoes ever occur? How does it work? The veto is set at 6 votes needed to veto (60% of the owners not involved in the trade). Their was some controversy with this last year, as CBS had a glitch in their system, and an owner could vote to veto more than once. A trade ended up looking as though it would be veto'd, but then went through just fine when the transaction deadline went by.
What is the in-season trade deadline? The site is set to 8/15, but the Constitution said 8/30. It is 8/15. Constitution will be updated.
Is the DL list really unlimited? Yes, but the players must be on the MLB DL to be placed on the Denny's League DL. We've never run into a problem with anybody abusing this. Its a good way to draft a player late and stash him for half a season, like Volquez last year. If someone goes on the DL, the Constitution says the Commish will place on the DL if the owner doesn't. What if the injured player is simply on the bench (& not starting). I could see wanting to simply avoid a $.50 transaction or already have taken their 3 picks for the week. This rule will go by the wayside with the limits on waiver claims.
If you end up with less than 35 players after the draft you can pick players up prior to Opening Day. I'll open up waivers after the draft. There will be no limit on the amount of claims you can make before Opening Day. Once the season starts, the 3-per-week limit goes into effect.
When are keepers due? Is it simply a matter of indicating keepers on the website lineup or does the Commish need an e-mail? What about extending contracts? Keepers are due 2/15. You can select them on the website if you wish, but an email to me is mandatory so I can keep it for records purposes. That way I can always look back to that if an issue about contracts arrises. Extensions are due at the same time... when emailing your keeper list not which players you are extending and for how long.
Once the keepers are announced, I assume trading can continue until the draft? I also assume trades can happen between the draft and start of the season. Is there trading during the draft? Once keepers are announced, those players cannot be traded - as it would alter the draft since teams lose picks for the kept players. You can make picks-for-picks trades after keepers are announced, however. Trading during the draft is ok, so if you want to trade one of your kept players, you can negotiate a deal prior to the draft, then make the trade once the draft begins.
Finally, has scoring been finalized? Yes, we'll go with what it currently is on CBS for this year. At the end of 2011, we can always revisit it if there are more tweaks that everyone feels need to be made.

NOTE: Keepers are due 3/15, not 2/15 as I stated above. March 15, eleven days prior to the draft.

A few more short questions...
What happens if a team has more than 35 draft picks? Do they keep picking after they reach 35? Is it just a matter of having to be back down to 35 before the season starts? Can the extras go to the DL (assuming they are DL eligible)?
Has a decision been made on the minor leagues? Will the draft be immediately following the regular draft?
Thanks.

Can the extras go to the DL (assuming they are DL eligible)? Yes and Yes - all that matters is that you have your 35 (25 active/10 reserves) set by Opening Day.
Has a decision been made on the minor leagues? Will the draft be immediately following the regular draft? We will be doing the Minors Draft this year, kind of a trial run to see how it works and if everyone likes it. It will be 3 rounds, and may immediately follow the draft, but I am uncertain on that yet.

I was going through the Constitution & had 2 questions.
1. Is the scoring now settles as in the Constitution & has it been updated on the website. For instance I noticed the Constituion says 7 pts per save while the CBS site says 6 pts.
2. In terms of the minor league draft, is there a place on the CBS site that lists the minor league eligible players (or do we have to sort based on games played, etc?
Thanks.

Sorry it took me a couple of days to answer....
1. Is the scoring now settles as in the Constitution & has it been updated on the website. For instance I noticed the Constituion says 7 pts per save while the CBS site says 6 pts. The scoring is correct on CBS. I will edit the constitution to match. 2. In terms of the minor league draft, is there a place on the CBS site that lists the minor league eligible players (or do we have to sort based on games played, etc? You'll have to sort them based on AB or IP I would guess. I myself will probably use one of the millions of prospect lists out there, and go from that.

minor league keeper question. So now I have 3 minor leaguers. Can I keep them and still draft 3 new minor leaguers for a total of 6 after the minor league draft?
