Article 6. Minor League Roster
A. Each team will keep a roster of no more than 5 minor league players, who must be acquired either during the minor league draft, or demoted from the MLB while on a Denny's League roster. Minors players will not count against any positional or roster requirements as far as illegal lineups are concerned.
B. A minors player is not required to be promoted from the minors roster until the beginning of the season after MLB rookie status was exhausted (“M” is dropped from contract). If a minors player is promoted to the MLB, he may be left on a Denny's League minors roster until the owner chooses to promote him, so long as he is a "M" designated minor leaguer. If a player that is not an "M" designated minor leaguer is promoted to MLB, he must be promoted in Denny's League as well. If a player who has been promoted is sent down by his MLB team, he may be placed back on the minor league roster.
C. Trading of minor leaguers is allowed.
D. It is permissible to draft or acquire on waivers a minor leaguer. In this case, the player will be designated as a FA without minors status for contract purposes. The owner can either assign the player to one of the 5 minor league slots (if there is an opening) or to the team’s MLB roster.
Article 12. Minor League Draft
A. At the conclusion of the 30 round MLB draft, a 5 round Minor League Draft will be held.
B. This draft will be conducted over the course of five days as a slow-draft, with one round being held each day by email. Each team participating in that days’ round will email a list of picks to the commissioner, and the highest available player on that list will be slotted into that team’s pick.
C. To be eligible to be picked in this draft, a player must maintain MLB rookie status (less than 130ab, 50ip).
D. Minor Leaguers may still be drafted during the standard portion of the Denny's League draft. Those players drafted must be kept either in reserves or active, regardless of rookie status. Their contracts will also fall under the same rules as all other players drafted during the 30-round draft.
E. Draft order or the Minors Draft will ALWAYS be in reverse order of the final regular season standings to determine picks 1-8, and in reverse order of playoff finish for picks 9-14.
F. If a team does not participate in the minor league draft, they will be moved to the end of the current round, and when their turn comes up they will be given the 10th highest rated prospect available on the published list of the commissioner’s choice (Most likely the Baseball America top 100).
G. Trading of Minor League Draft picks is not allowed.
